Roger Dale Webber, born on May 7,1952, passed away on Friday at the age of 70. Funeral and visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford, AL. Visitation will be Thursday, April 27 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm with service beginning at 2:00. Family and friends are welcome to attend the patriotic military honors ceremony with the playing of taps and flag presentation at Maple Grove Cemetery immediately following the service. Roger was a loving father, a VERY proud grandfather, wonderful brother, uncle, cousin and great friend. Roger was born to William Ancil Webber Sr. and Daisy Mae Webber, both of whom preceded him in death, along with sisters; Bobbie Webber (Ural) Pressley, Mary Webber (Charles) Roberts and brother Raymond Aubry Webber. Roger was the youngest of ten and is survived by: Sisters; Myrt Pfannkuche, Peggy Milam and Sue (Terry) Wiley, Sister in-law; Jerry Nell Webber, Brothers; William Webber Jr., Robert (Denise) Webber, Dennis (Becky) Webber and many, many nieces and nephews. Roger's greatest joys in life were spending time with his family and biking. After retiring from military service of three years, and Anniston Army Depot of thirty years, Roger enjoyed bicycling, whether it be cycling indoors on rainy days or 20 miles on the Chief Ladiga Trail in the sunshine. He rarely missed a day. It was a passion and he was an inspiration to many. His children, Christy Ann Webber Goodson (Joshua Goodson) and William Daniel Webber (Jessica Webber) meant the world to him and he took great pride in watching them grow into amazing individuals. Roger was a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, Levi Goodson, Tristan Webber and Jack Goodson, who brought him countless days of joy, laughter and sometimes a headache. Pawpaw rarely missed a ball game and would travel to the ends of the earth just to watch his boys play. He was their biggest fan. He will also be remembered and loved by Libby Ann Webber, his former wife, who remained a significant presence in his life. Roger was a wonderful friend to many including his neighbors, Anita Brooks and Derrick Cotton, whom he loved dearly and were like family. To help honor Roger's life, pallbearers will be Jesse Hall, Patrick Webber, Craig Gardner, Dustin Gardner, Kevin Webber, Don Palmore, Terry Wiley, and honorary pallbearer Larry Harper. Roger's kindness, compassion, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and the memories he leaves behind.
