Mary Nichols Lee age 99 of Anniston, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2023. She was a daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great-grandmother. Mary loved the Lord and was a member of Church on the Rock in the Wellborn community. Early in life while raising her children she worked at WT Grants Department Store on Noble Street for 18 years. Her passionate hobbies were gardening, cooking for family and friends, sewing beautiful quilts in winter and growing amazing flowers in the spring and summer. She also had a laugh that would bring the stars to your eyes and a smile to your face. She loved and had a special heart for children. Echoes of the sound of her chair rocking babies to sleep will be heard forever. Her parents are Ervin Othar Nichols and Melissa (Donnie) Caldonea Honea of Trenton, Alabama, in the Paint Rock Valley. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Isaac Richard Lee, her children Erwin Isaac Lee, Garry Glenn Lee, and Linda Gayle Toler, sisters Nancy Jane Stilson, Mettie Idela Phillips, and Ophelia Little. Mary raised five of her own children and three of her grandchildren, Charles (Chuck) Lee, Michael Lee, and Robert (Bobby) Lee after the passing of her oldest son. Surviving children include daughter Lanitta L. Dew of Anniston, Alabama and Larry H. Lee of Oxford, Alabama. Her eldest daughter, Linda Gayle Toler, was the wife of Joseph B. Toler (Deceased)and mother of Michelle Bowman. Michelle Bowman is the wife of Donnie Bowman and the mother of Chris Bowman and Jennifer Roblee. Chris’s family includes wife Katelyn and children Lyla, Caden, Collin, and Kinslee. Jennifer’s family includes husband Cody Roblee, children Brylee, Izzie and Mason. Her eldest son, Isaac Ervin Lee was the father of Charles Lee (Judy Jacobs Lee) of Piedmont, Alabama, Robert (Bobby) Lee, and Michael Lee. Charles is the father of Abbie Camp, wife of Jaccob Camp, and Austin Lee, who has a son, Noah Lee. Michael Lee is husband to Amy Lee and father of Hailey Smith, wife of Tyson and mother of Cyrus Smith, Paige Lee, and Brook Lee. Her third child, Lanitta Dew was the wife of William Franklin Dew and Glen Wain. Her family includes son William (Bill) Dew Jr, and daughters Robin Marie Neal, Pamela Lynn Scheer, and Sara Elizabeth Dew. Bill is the husband of Claire Dew and father of Sidney, Judge and Jordan Dew. Robin Marie Neal of Huntsville, Alabama is the wife of Thomas Lee Neal Jr., mother of Thomas Lee Neal III of Huntsville, Alabama and Lauren Elizabeth Bell of Tampa, Florida. Lauren is married to Samuel Bell and is mother to Thatcher Oliver Flynn Bell. Daughter Pamela Lynn Scheer is the wife of Alan Scheer, and mother of Jessica Madison Scheer, engaged to Michael Ausley and son David Alan Scheer II engaged to Summer Collins. Her fourth child Larry H. Lee of Oxford, Alabama was husband of Sheila Lee and father of Larry Richard Lee, Chanda Brisco, and Rebekah Scott. Chanda is the wife of Jim Brisco and mother of Trey who is married to Maddy Faass. Rebekah is the wife of Mike Scott, and the mother of Brittany Scott and Rebekah Scott. Larry is married to Anju Lee and is the father of Aakash B. Lee and Adesh R. Lee. Her fifth child Garry Glenn Lee is the father of Jenny Sue Lee, Ross Gravette, Angela Chilton, David Lee, Stephanie Hughes, James Lee, and Sara Lee who was adopted by Lanitta Dew. Angela is married to Chris Chilton and is the mother of Angel Lee, Hunter Isbell, and Baylee Chilton. David is married to Amber and is the father of Garry David Lee Jr. James Lee is married to Angel and is the father of Gracelyn Merci Lee. Pallbearers include Michael Lee, Aakash Lee, Cody Roblee, Chase McAvoy, Alan Scheer, and Charles Lee. Service performed by Randy Hayes, Pastor of Church on the Rock.Services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on the same day from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
