Marty Sherman Mangham, 76, of Oxford, passed away peacefully, entering the gates of Heaven, on July 21st, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him dearly. Born on December 1st, 1949, in Auburn, Alabama, Marty lived a life marked by service, adventure, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication and strength. If you knew him, you knew he never met a stranger. Whether you had known him for years or had just crossed paths, he was always ready to strike up a conversation, share a story, or make you feel like an old friend. His warm personality and gift for connecting with people left a lasting impression on everyone he met. One of his greatest joys in life was riding motorcycles. The open road brought him peace, and many of his favorite memories were made on two wheels. Even more than his love for motorcycles was the love he had for his wife, Diane. Together they traveled to countless places, making memories and enjoying every adventure side by side. Although she preceded him in death nine years ago, the love they shared never faded, and he carried her memory with him every day. Above all, he loved the Lord and loved his family. His faith carried him through life’s joys and hardships, and he lived with the hope and assurance of God’s promises. His legacy of kindness, generosity, conversation, unwavering love, and steadfast faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Paige Mangham; his granddaughters, Bailey Campbell (Alex) and Abby Hollingsworth (Kagan); his siblings, Sheila Mangham Williams, Dennis Mangham, Mike Mangham, and Danny Mangham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Mangham, as well as his mother and father, Elizabeth and Sherman Mangham. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home in the Toby Miller Chapel from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with military honors beginning at 2:00 pm. Although we will miss him dearly, we do not grieve without hope. We rejoice in knowing that he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and that one day, through faith in Christ, we will see him again. Until that day, his love, laughter, stories, and unwavering faith will remain forever in our hearts.
