A time of gathering for Mrs. Katie Kent DaLee will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home. An interment will take place at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Mrs. DaLee passed away on November 26, 2022. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Lynn DaLee; brother, Roy Donald Kent (Diane); sister, Sandra Fay Kent; niece and caregiver, Sherry Hughes; nephews, Chris Kent (Carla), Jason Kent; chosen daughter and sons, Sharon Wallace Stolts, Bruce Stolts, Chris Champion, Scott Champion, Scott Phelps, Tim Phelps, and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends. Mrs. DaLee is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond Douglas DaLee, Jr.; her son, Raymond Douglas DaLee III; niece who she raised, Emily Schnadt; parents, Roy Thomas and Corrilla Rooks Kent; sisters, Edith Geraldine Kent Hughes, and Alice Kent Pallbearers will be Jason Kent, Chris Kent, Aaron Kent, Christopher Kent, Carl Kent, Brendon Kent, Cameron Kent, Wally Blanton, Scott Phelps, and Tim Phelps. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Champion, Scott Champion, Bruce and Sharon Stolts, and Sharron Cook. Mrs. DaLee was a 1959 graduate of Cleburne County High School. She married the love of her life and moved to Evergreen, Alabama where she started her family. During her life, she had successful careers. She worked as an office worker at Moore Business Forms, was the payroll clerk with Dura-Built Homes, and worked 11 years with the State of Alabama as an account clerk in several departments. Mrs. DaLee was of the Baptist faith and was heavily involved in church. She was a member of Ridge Crest Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. She has been involved in missions, taught Sunday School, was on the prison ministry, and was a prayer warrior for anyone who came to her. Mrs. DaLee was a social butterfly, who was very easy to talk too. She became friends with so many and so many cherished the friendship they had with her. Mrs. DaLee will be deeply missed by all those who had the great pleasure of knowing her, especially her daughter Terri Lynn DaLee. The family will accept flowers, or a donation can be made to the Big Oak Ranch at 250 Jake Mintz Road Gadsden, AL 35905.
