Tributes

Willard Charles Sims, Jr. (Charlie) went to be with his Lord February 24, 2022. Charlie was born in Carrolton Georgia on November 27, 1965. He had lived in Alabama since 1967. Charles is survived by his son Charles Benjamin Sims and his wife Rebecca, sister, Ginger Sims Skipper and her husband, Barry, brother Barry Lane Sims and his wife, Rebecca, grandsons James Ferriera, Gavin Sargent and Bryant Sims, parents in law RD and Nancy Pitts, sisters in law Jessica Pitts and Ashley Pitts and stepson James Maddox. Special children in his life who lovingly called him “Papa” are Kendall, Kaden, and Kallie Tuttle; Justin and Byraydon Nichols and Alyssa Peace. Charlie had many friends, the Co-Op, Huddle House, Jack’s and the farming community of Munford. He will be missed, and we can no longer say “ask Charlie”. Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Ruechelle Pitts Sims, mother Frankie Marie Reaves Sims, father, Willard Charles Sims, Sr., and brother Christopher Lee (Chris) Sims. He was a long-distance truck driver and cattleman and farmer in Talladega County. A celebration of his life will be at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford, Alabama Sunday, February 27, 2022. Visitation will be from 1 till 3 with the funeral at 3pm in the Toby Miller Chapel. Burial will be at Ragan Chapel Cemetery in Ohatchee, Alabama. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
