Mr. Walter Fritts

A memorial service for Mr. Walter Fritts, 71 of Anniston, will be on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. Pastor Eric Snider, Dr. Rick Reaves, Rev. Ronnie Moore, and Dr. Danny Lanier will be officiating. The family will receive friends on the same day from noon until the time of the service. Mr. Fritts passed away on May 4, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bobbie Fritts; son, Ryan Fritts (Carrie); son, Shawn Fritts (Brenda); grandchildren, Callie Fritts, Carli Fritts; sisters, Barbara Williams and Julie Archer, and a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lorraine Fritts; sister, Carol Hulsey and a brother, Michael Fritts. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Jones, former JSU basketball coach; David Guthrie; Ken Howell; Jimmy Snider; Billy Friar; Mitch Howell; Darren Thompson; Jim Wilson; Charles Burkette, Mike Galloway and former JSU basketball staff and players. Mr. Fritts was an Anniston Police officer in the 1970’s. He served as a motorcycle cop for about 4 years with the department. Mr. Fritts had a heart for Harley Davidson. He had many friends that he enjoyed riding with. He loved going to Thunder Beach. He opened the Cockpit in 1992 where he became close friends with several of the JSU coaches and players. In 1999, he opened Struts. More than anything, he enjoyed and loved being with his family, especially his granddaughters. Mr. Fritts was a loving and caring husband, father, Big Daddy and friend and will be greatly missed by all those that had the great pleasure of knowing him.
