Norma Bullington Buchanan

November 3, 1924 - December 20, 2021

Norma Bullington Buchanan, 97 of Bynum, was welcomed into her heavenly home on December 20, 2021. She was born in Charleston, AR in 1924. Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, C.R. ’Buck’ Buchanan. They were married in 1942 where he was stationed at Camp Chaffee in Arkansas. Norma and Buck relocated with their children to Bynum, AL in 1950 where Mr. Buchanan worked at the Anniston Army Depot. She was also preceded in death by their son, Charles Buchanan; son in law, Dale Purkey, and her 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her children, Becky Purkey, Gene (Jerry) Buchanan, Rosalind (Ronnie) Thacker, and Tim (Debbie) Buchanan; grandchildren, Laura Bussey, Shawn Buchanan, Kevin (Mandy) Purkey, Carrie (Ryan) Kramer, Holly Higgins, Rachel (James) Boullemet, Sarah Buchanan, Justin Buchanan and Cody (Jessica) Buchanan; great grandchildren, Ali Bussey, Kaylin (trey) Ogg, Eden Bussey, Maggie Kramer, Claire Purkey, Wyatt Boullemet, Andrew Purkey, Keegan Buchanan, Natalie Higgins, and Keeli Buchanan, Caroline Buchanan, Emmy Buchanan, and Bennett Buchanan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Buchanan was the last surviving charter member of the Bynum United Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Kramer, Trey Ogg, James Boullemet, Justin Buchanan, Cody Buchanan, and Kevin Purkey. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11:00 am in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on the same day from 10:30 am until the time of the service. Dr. Bill Snow will be officiating.
