Mr. Maury Willoughby

January 16, 1957 - November 27, 2021

A funeral service for Mr. Maury Willoughby, 64 of Eastaboga, will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. Pastor Richie Ponder will be officiating. A burial will follow the service at Patton Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on the same day from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Mr. Willoughby passed away on November 27, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Janet Willoughby; children, Anthony Alward (Trish) and Brett Alward (Andrea); six grandchildren, Shelby Dunaway, Grayson Alward, Garrett Alward, Baylee Alward, Blakely Alward, Levi Alward; great grandchildren, Matix Easterwood, Hudsyn Easterwood; brother, Glenn Willoughby (Maxine); aunt, Toby Brown, and a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mansel and Iva Willoughby; grandchild, Brayden Alward; parents in law, Henry and Mary Hale; brothers in law, Tommy Hale, Jimmy Hale; and his sister in law, Barbara Agee. Pallbearers will be Grayson Alward, Garrett Alward, Levi Alward, Jake Hale, Michael Hester, and Andy Fulmer. Mr. Willoughby attended Patton Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time outside going hunting and fishing. He was an avid Alabama football fan, ROLL TIDE! Mr. Willoughby had a kind and gentle soul and would help anyone who needed it. His kindness even overflowed into his love for taking care of animals. Mr. Willoughby loved spending anytime he could with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by those who love him the most.
