Funeral services for Lois Clay Willingham Owen, 95 of Oxford, Alabama will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church in Oxford. Reverend Scott Smith and Reverend Ronny Moore will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. at the church until time for the service. Burial will take place in Crumley’s Chapel Church of God cemetery in Cleburne County, Alabama. Mrs. Owen passed away on March 7, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Survivors include her son, Donnie Willingham (Dona), Anniston, Alabama, daughters, Diane Dorsett, Foley, Alabama and Barbara Montgomery (Charles), Oxford, Alabama, grandson, Brandon Dorsett (Kellie), granddaughters, Shelley Birchfield (Chris), Lori Woodrow (Kevin), and Kimberly Williams, great grandsons, Jayden Williams, Joseph Dorsett and Russell Dorsett, great granddaughters, Haley Birchfield Solee (Steven), Lindsey Birchfield Dunn (Brent), Brittany Pritchett, Harper Woodrow and Jaycie Williams, great-great grandson, Roman Solee and great-great granddaughters, Holland Solee, Emmalie Ogles and Leaha Ogles and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Arlin Willingham and Percy Owen, her parents, Andrew and Lucinda Clay, infant granddaughter, Heather Willingham, son-in-law, Cliff Dorsett, brother, Arlin Clay, and sisters, Eunice Webb and Lura Jean Monroe. Mrs. Owen was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on February 12, 1927. She was very active in church and taught Sunday School and Training Union and was a member of the church choir for many years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama at the time of her death. She loved Sacred Heart music and attended many singings throughout the years. She had a servant’s heart and provided childcare and caregiving to many in need. She loved her family and making homemade quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She also loved gardening and her beautiful flowers. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. Pallbearers will be Chris Birchfield, Kevin Woodrow, Steven Solee, Brandon Dorsett, Jayden Williams, Ryan Greenwood and Chad Montgomery. The family extends its deepest thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Care New Beacon Hospice and Visiting Angels for the loving care that they provided to their precious mother and grandmother during her illness.
