Mr. Juerod Sims

A memorial service for Mr. Juerod Sims, age 84, will be on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 11:30 am in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on the same day from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Repass will follow immediately after the service at the TAW Elks Lodge located at 1220 Pine Avenue. Mr. Sims passed away on January 30, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Burnese Turner; children, Natalie Sims, Felicia Sims Mercer (Michael), LaSonja Sims Talley (Burdette), Jaquetta Sims, Tiffany Sims Young (Thomas); step children, Ricky Williams, Brenda Hasberry (Adrian), Mitzi Sims, and Derricko Sims (Safira), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews, and extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna L. Grady Sims; parents, TW and Princie Mae Dunson; sister, Mabel Sims; grandson, Antrell Sims; niece, Joyce Pray, and his nephew, James Alfred Turner. Mr. Sims was a founding member of the gospel singing group, ‘The Southern Travelers’. He loved being with his dogs, Midnight and Spot. Mr. Sims attended Murray Temple CME. Mr. Sims was greatly loved by his community and friends in the neighborhood.
