Jerrone Lee Kennedy, 90, of Oxford, Alabama, passed away May 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00p.m. A Graveside service will follow at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Heflin, Alabama. Pastor Trull Hill will be officiating. He is survived by his spouse, Catherine Kennedy; children, Crandall Kennedy (Holley), Charlene Bain (Phil), Karen Oldiges (Billy), Tammy McCarn (Vic); grandchildren, Evan Kennedy (Charis), Seth Kennedy (Lua), Stephanie Bain, Emily Leonard (Rob), Andi Rommelman (Marcus), Austin McCarn (Bekah), Daniel McCarn; six great grandchildren; sisters, Naomi Grey, Ann LaBore, Gail Cobb; brothers, Hobert Kennedy (Jo), Owen Kennedy, Charles Kennedy (Judy); honorary son, Tom Powers; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Kennedy and Ellie Kennedy. He was an award-winning harmonica player, served two years in the Korean War, and was an avid outdoorsman. He retired from Bell South/ AT&T after 42 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He was an active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church since 1966 and accepted Christ as his Savior as a teenager. He will be forever missed.
