A Memorial service for Mr. James Carlton Moore, age 82, of Anniston will be held Saturday, December 4 at 2:00 P.M. in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home with Alan Newman officiating. The family will receive friends on the same day from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Carlton passed away December 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his Children; Cindy Calhoun (Donnie), Tanya Matthews (Kenny), Jeff Moore (Lisa); 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, Cousin; Marion Sanders Miller, a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice; Great grandson, James (Jamey) McCord; Parents, Pete and Lucille Moore. In his early years Carlton played in several Rock -N- Roll bands and later transitioned into Southern Gospel where he and several friends formed a group called “The Believers”. In the early 70’s, God called him to be a preacher, where he served 32 years in the ministry. He retired from the ministry in 2005 and lived his remaining life in Anniston, Alabama. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the National Kidney Foundation or American Cancer Society in honor of Carlton and Janice Moore.
