Mr. Braxton "Sonny" Earl Smith Jr.

March 17, 1948 - February 14, 2021

A funeral service for Mr. Braxton ‘Sonny’ Earl Smith Jr., 72 of Oxford, will be on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 12:00 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on the same day from 11:00 am until the time of the service. A private entombment will follow the service. Mr. Smith passed away on February 14, 2021 at RMC. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Scott Smith Bierley, Dana Crumley (Lindsey), Kent Crumley (Tami), Angela Hollingsworth (Michael); sister, Teresa Ellen Setter (Ross); brother, Kyle Smith; grandchildren, Jordan Hollingsworth (Brandy), Brian Crumley (Kaitlin), Zach Hollingsworth (Alex), Ragan Crumley O’Connor (John Bryan), Spencer Hollingsworth, Trent Hollingsworth; 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Ann Smith; father, B. E. Smith Sr.; mother, Johnnie Mae Comer, and his stepmother, Janet Ellen Smith. Pallbearers will be Jordan Hollingsworth, Brian Crumley, Zach Hollingsworth, Spencer Hollingsworth, Trent Hollingsworth, and John Bryan O’Connor. Mr. Smith retired from the construction business. He was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him. Due to the current COVID-19 protocol, all those in attendance of the services for Mr. Smith will be asked to wear a facial covering properly and will be advised to be socially distant.
