Billy “Ted” Wayne Smith

A memorial service for Billy “Ted” Wayne Smith, age 74 of Abel, will be on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11 am at Abel Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Dr. Pete Frames. The family will receive friends on the same day at 10 am at the church. The graveside service will take place after the memorial service at Abel Baptist Church Cemetery, Steve Butler will be a pallbearer. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce Smith, daughter, Brandy Butler (Steve), granddaughters; Jean Smith, Haley Butler, Anna Butler, grandsons; Cody Butler, Chris Williams Butler, brother, Roy Smith (Betty), sisters; Judy Daugherty (Dwight), Bunnie Hawkins, and many nieces and nephews and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Hattie Smith, brother, Calvin Smith Jr., and sister, Lois Stansell. Ted was a member of Abel Baptist Church and Deacon. He was a very loyal church member. He loved his family, and friends. He also enjoyed traveling, gospel singing, guns and trains. Ted spent four years serving his country in the Air Force as a military police officer.
