A funeral service for Mr. Avery “Pops” Wendell Carroll, Sr., 83 of Anniston, will be on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 3:30 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. His son, Ben Carroll, will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 20 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Mr. Carroll passed away on March 18, 2022 at his home. He is survived by his children, Avery Wendell Carroll, Jr., Tina Carroll (Bernardo), Lynn Carroll, Jerry Carroll (Sommer), Stephen Carroll (Kerrie), and Ben Carroll (Amanda); grandchildren, Jake Rivera (Theresa), Shasta Dixon (Brandon), Beverly Carroll, Sunnie Webb, Brittany Carroll, Meghan Marcotte (Brian), Jessica Honea (Chad), Hannah Shears, Dalton Carroll (Karigan), Nick Carroll, Lauren Carroll (Jeremiah), Chelsea Carroll, Sydney Carroll, Chase Carroll, Ethan Carroll, and Karson Carroll; and 18 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Brenda Carroll, his son Rodney Carroll, his daughter-in-law Pamela Carroll, his parents Benjamin and Beulah Carroll, and 12 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Jerry Carroll, Stephen Carroll, Ben Carroll, Jake Rivera, Dalton Carroll, and Nick Carroll. Honorary pallbearers are Chase Carroll and Ethan Carroll. Mr. Carroll served our country proudly in the United States Army for 20 years. “Pops” was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was well known in his community and loved by everyone that knew him. He loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed.
