On the afternoon of Monday, July 3, 2023, William "Bill" Loy Phillips, 89, of Anniston, Alabama, peacefully departed from this earthly life to reunite with his beloved wife, Almedia Phillips, in God's Kingdom. He joins his parents, Loy and Nora Phillips, his dear sisters, Alga Cassels, Inez Easterwood, Jean Blakney, Illa Phillips, Mary Stanford, Virginia Flynn, and three cherished nephews, Bobby Cassels, Eddie Easterwood, and James Blakney who preceded him in this spiritual journey. Bill's loving spirit is forever etched in the hearts of his two children, Teresa (Art) Turner and Ron (Julie) Phillips, his four doting grandchildren, Jonathan (Katie) Turner, Nathaniel (Heather) Turner, Luke Phillips, and Laura Phillips, his precious great-grandchildren, Joseph, Samuel, and Bethany Turner. His five nieces and nephew, Pat (Buddy) Tumlin, Yvonne (Rick) Garrard, Pallace Stanford, David Stanford, and Renee (Gary) Goldfarb, among a host of friends and extended family, will continue to carry forward his legacy of love and dedication. A proud patriot, Bill offered his youthful years in service to the nation with the Army, before laying roots in Anniston, AL. His diligent work at Lee Brass/Phelps Dodge in the Tool Room built not just a career, but also a community of respect and friendship. A deeply spiritual man, Bill dedicated over 60 years in service to God through Leatherwood Baptist Church. His kindness, faithfulness, and indomitable spirit touched many lives, serving as an inspiring beacon of unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The honor of your presence is requested at the memorial service for Bill, to be held at Leatherwood Baptist Church, Anniston, Alabama, on July 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Attendees are invited to pay their respects with a public viewing at the church, commencing one hour prior to the service. The service will be followed by a solemn graveside service at Anniston Memorial Gardens with military honors presented by the Army Honor Guard. Reverend Mike Owens will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Turner, Nathaniel Turner, Luke Phillips, Laura Phillips, Jamie Cosper, and Craig Baird.
