Ms. Janet M. Dover, of Anniston, AL entered her Heavenly home on November 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Honor Hill; step-dad, Bertrend “Jim” Hill; father, Harvey Gibson; brothers, Hoot, Howard (Carol Fox), and Harry “Buzzy”; sisters, Ann and Harriet “Bitsy.” She is survived by daughter, Sonia Hanford (Joe); son, Keith Dover (Robin); daughter, Tenne Dempsey (Shane); eight grandchildren, Jordan Hansford, Jacob Hansford (Jessica), Kelsie Dover, Jonathon Dover, Camryn Muncher (Adam), Chloe Dempsey, Cydney Dempsey; five great grandchildren, Paisleigh Hansford, Nova Bibbs, Halel Bibbs, Evie Muncher, Emmie Muncher; step grandchildren, Isaiah Davis, and Lydia Davis; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bidikov and Gentiva Hospice Company for the compassion towards Ms. Janet. Janet was a woman whose gentle spirit touched every life she encountered. Known for her sweetness and the way she welcomed others with open arms, she truly never met a stranger. Her kindness was effortless, her smile inviting, and her presence a comfort to all who knew her. A retired seamstress, Janet poured her heart into her craft. Her hands were steady, her stitches precise, and her attention to detail unmatched. She carried the same precision into every aspect of her life, supported by a remarkably sharp memory that amazed friends and family alike. She also had a beautiful way with words. As a writer of poems, Janet captured her thoughts, feelings, and observations in gentle verses that reflected the depth of her spirit. Janet loved puzzles of all kinds—crosswords, jigsaws, brain teasers—and approached each one with the same curiosity and determination that defined her daily life. She found joy in the challenge and peace in the quiet focus they required. Including her gentle demeanor, Janet also had a lively sense of humor. Her life was stitched together with love, humor, and simple joys. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and joyful moments that will continue to bring comfort to those who loved her most. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at The Church of God in Anniston, Alabama starting at 1:00 pm. The address to the church is 600 South Hillman St. Anniston, Alabama.
