Jacqueline Williams Paddio was born on July 16, 1957 to Lee Jack Bailey and Geraldine Williams in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Her calling was seen by her grandmother, Vandola Joseph, early in her life. While being encouraged by her mother to socialize with the other children playing in the yard, her grandmother proclaimed, “Jerrydean, leave Jackie alone. She is different. She is running a different course…” Her burden was lifted as she could now walk in the anointing on her life, showing that she was set apart as a child of the King. A 1975 graduate of Lake Charles High School, she was awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from McNeese State University in 1979, also in her hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Freedom Bible College and Seminary in Rogers, Arkansas with a Master’s degree in Ministry, she majored in Christian Counseling Psychology. Under the leadership of Bishop Robert L. Evans of Bethel Temple in Longview, Texas, she was licensed and ordained as a minister by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Incorporated. She served as the Administrator of Ministerial Operations at Bellview Missionary Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama prior to becoming the Elder and Equipping Pastor for Word Alive International Outreach, Inc. in 2015. Determined to positively mold, shape and impact the lives of those in her path, she stood on the promise to her by God that everywhere her feet tread, His power would be revealed. This was realized as she connected with people from every strata of life. Blessed with wisdom, she compassionately reconnected those who were distraught and downcast with their God-given purpose in life. It was because of her belief that nothing shall be impossible with God and that she could do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthened her (Philippians 4:13) that she grasped the inevitability of change. In her words, “Change…it is inevitable; if you are not changing, then you are dying with your eyes open.” Her quest was to help change lives for the Kingdom as she shared her life verse, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV). Her professional career is highlighted by successful tenure as Dean of Students at Texas College, Coordinator of Women’s Sports, and Director of the Texas Regional Head Start Program. While Head Coach of the Women’s Softball Program at Southeastern Louisiana University, she was the first Black Head Coach of a Division I Institution in the state of Louisiana. This is especially significant in that this achievement was across gender of male and female coaches, setting a national record for best turn around program in one year with 22 wins. Consistent with her standard of excellence, her athletes maintained the highest grade point average in the athletic department. Named Coach of the Year at Landry High School in New Orleans, she produced 33 new school records in one season, being undefeated in a single season. Appointed as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Talladega College, she moved to Talladega in 2008 where she worked closely with the President of Talladega College. Her strong management and leadership abilities and skills were evident as she supervised five areas assigned to her under Student Services. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of University Women, The National Scholars Honor Society, The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the National Coaches Association. Special honors bestowed upon her include: The Leading Edge designation as one of 56 inspiring women of East Alabama, nomination to the Third Edition of Who's Who In Black Birmingham, selection as a participant in the Harvard University Educational Management Institute, and selection as an honored member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. She was chosen as one of fifty prominent and inspiring women in the State of Alabama to contribute to the book, Dear Dani, “A gift of pearls to our younger sisters.” Her parents, Brother Michael Williams, Grandmothers Vandola Joseph and Annie Bailey, and Nephew Israel Sumbler precede her in death. Leaving to cherish her life and memories are her husband of 38 years, Lawrence James Paddio; Her siblings: Constance Ford (Pastor Raleigh), Barbara Orebeaux (Michael), Cynthia Pendelton (James), Sandra Guillory (Michael), Sylvia Sumbler (Alan), Darlene Griffin, and LaShonda Sumbler(Anthony); Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and so many spiritual children throughout the country, into whom she poured her love and wisdom. Born the seventh month, died the seventh day of the seventh month...Her journey is COMPLETED. A service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:15pm at Word Alive International Outreach. The family will receive friends on the same day from 11:00am until noon. “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.” (John 17:4 NKJV).
