Guy Brand Sparks

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guy Brand Sparks, 76, of Oxford, Alabama. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, Papa, beloved son, cherished brother, and dear friend, who left this world far too soon. His passing has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew him. His memory will be treasured by those who loved him. Guy was a lifelong resident of Oxford, Alabama. He was the owner and operator of Nunnally's Glass and Framing for more than 28 years. He was a faithful Christian, deacon, Sunday School teacher, and member of Golden Springs Baptist Church. He was a living testimony and maintained a servant's heart. He was eager and ready to share the gospel with others. He truly never met a stranger. God and family were the center of Guy's life. He was a guiding presence to his wife of almost 52 years, his children, grandchildren, and all of his family and friends. He was always willing to offer support, wisdom, and love. Guy's commitment to his family was unwavering, and his legacy will live on through the countless memories he leaves behind. Guy was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting with particular interest in deer and turkey. This passion began at an early age with his father and brothers and will continue with his son and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending his time in the woods and often said he felt closest to God when he was in nature. Guy loved playing and coaching sports. He influenced many lives and mentored many kids through little league sports for almost twenty years. He was also a loyal supporter of Auburn University. He is survived by his wife, Becky Sparks; children Brandi Pointer (Jared) and Jared Sparks (Amber); grandchildren Matthew and Lauren Pointer, Mackenzie and Micah Sparks; brothers Gary Sparks (Marcella) and Jim Sparks (Pat); numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Irene Sparks, sister Charlene Nieman, brother Scott Sparks. The family will receive friends and family at Golden Springs Baptist Church from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on April 18, 2025, with the memorial service to follow in the sanctuary at 4:00 p.m. Dr. Roland Brown will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Gideons International or Samaritan's Purse.
