Dillon Rastus Hurst was welcomed home on July 9th, 2025. Dillon was born March 24th, 1993; son of Kenneth L. and Tina D. Hurst. Dillon also spent some time with Barney and Donna Crow along with Jerry and Theresa Crumpton growing up. Dillon was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Hurst; father, Kenneth Hurst; uncles, Barney Crow, Jerry Crumpton; aunt, Theresa Crow; Grandparents, Ralph and Violet Crow, Bill and Minnie Hurst. He is survived by his brother Rafe Johnston(Cathy Johnston); sister, Brittany Spurlin (Chris Spurlin), Amanda Mullinax (Chad Mullinax), Jerri Smith (Chris Smith); uncle, Ronald Crow; cousin; James Crow (Morgan Crow), Amanda Howard (Nathan Howard), Matt Crow (Randi Lynn Crow) ; nephew, Hunter “Smiley”,Kenneth Hurst Jr, Avery Spurlin, Noah, Tide, Eli Howard, Ethan Crow; nieces, Katlyn Cooper, Emma Hurst, Carlee, Haylee-Grace, Katelyn, Cadance, Katherine, Blakelee Crow; Great niece, Millie Cooper. Family and friends please join us in a celebration of life for Dillon Hurst on Monday July 21st, 2025 at 12pm at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford, AL. Dillon R. Hurst was a very special individual to know. He would start his life out with probably the worst incident a kid could have, but the strength he had to overcome this adversity was nothing short of amazing. Dillon was a person everyone wanted to be around although he was quiet and didn’t speak a whole bunch, he had tons to say just by his actions. He gave a bunch of his time to the military and served in the Marine Corp and National Guard, after finishing up with the military he would meet his soulmate Amber Jenkins and they would spend the rest of their time together in Florida. He had several things in life that he truly enjoyed, anything outside hiking, fishing, and kayaking. He enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays, and was very competitive whether it was board games or football. Anyone who knew Dillon didn’t have a choice but to know his best friend Buddy, the golden retriever with a luxury lifestyle. Please hold on to your memories with Dillon tightly and remember him like he did with the loved ones he lost for one day we will rejoice with him. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
