Dennis Paul Catoe

Dennis Paul Catoe, 53, entered the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, 10/19/24. Dennis was born in Warner Robins, Georgia on 11/22/70 and made Anniston his home after being stationed at Fort McClellan. Dennis was a proud Army veteran and served his country in Operation Desert Storm in 1990 - 1991 as a combat engineer attached to C Company 46th Engineer Battalion. He was honorably discharged after his tour of duty in 1993. After his military career he drove for BR Williams, SuperValu and Davis Oil and also worked for Samco. Most of his career was spent at Noble Signs where he was shop superintendent until the business closed. He ended his working career hauling oversized equipment for Burford Construction. Dennis made many friends during his work career and maintained contact with so many of them. He was known for his ability to fix anything, and never backed down from a challenge. Dennis was most happy when surrounded by his wife whom he always called his Queen, his children, grandchildren and faithful fur baby. He had many hobbies, but his love of firearms was definitely his favorite. Some of his most fond memories are participating in shooting competitions which he did for several years. He also loved camping and spending time outdoors. He was a member of Iron City Baptist Church. Dennis was a loving and devoted husband and he and his wife Kelley were truly best friends. Their love story began literally on a roller coaster ride at Six Flags and spanned over a war and years of building a beautiful family whom he adored and amazing memories. The roller coaster ride continued through health battles that somehow only brought them closer. His children were his greatest accomplishments and if you were in his presence for more than a few minutes you would hear all about them as well as the grand babies who were the apple of his eyes. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Kelley ,a son Mykel (Tiffany) Storey, daughters, Shelby Brodeur, Sara (Parker) Molden, Brittany(Don) Caverly, grandchildren Raegan and Harper Storey, Hayden Brodeur, Quinn and Elliott Caverly, Parents Debra and Herbert Hester, siblings Lori (Jason) Taylor and Jeffrey (Amy) Hester, sister in law Holley(Philip) Rowe, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Ruby Patton, his father and mother in law John and Veronica Storey, and his faithful fur companion, Roxanne. Dennis was the strongest person you would ever meet and had zeal for life that was unmeasurable. He held fast to his faith as he battled cancer for the past 4 years and was the epitome of a survivor. He will be forever missed but left a legacy that will bless others for years to come. A funeral service for Dennis Paul Catoe will be held at Miller Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the Toby Miller Chapel starting at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Forestlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors.
